Hey bloggers! Adina checking in here to share a couple of tips and tricks for getting the most out of your scrappy goodies...
In particular, I know lots of our Scrap-A-Doodle Doo customers love some Glimmer Mist... But if you're anything like me, perhaps the collection of pretty colors can get daunting and then you wonder, "what's next?" :).
WELL, aside from spraying pretty colors onto scrapbook pages and working as a painting medium, Glimmermists work very well when used with masks...
Shown below, I used two types of Glimmermists with a mask cut from the Tim Holtz Sewing Room die to create interest on patterned paper.
When purchasing Glimmermists, be sure to look for a color that will work on the desired project. If you look closely, the image on the card featuring the Polka Dot Pink dress form is much bolder than image of the dress form transferred in Twinkle Yellow.
This is because the Polka Dot Pink is a Chalkboard Glimmer Mist, designed to be more opaque than the traditional Glimmer Mist like the Twinkle Yellow. The Chalkboard Mists work so well when painting onto altered media or when you really want to achieve complete coverage. Traditional glimmermists are more transparent and allow for, well... misting. :) Both forms do provide that beautiful shine and blinged out effect. And as shown above, both do work well when masking in particular...
Well folks, there you have it... when selecting chalkboard or traditional glimmer mists, keep in mind that you will have some different effects based on the type of product purchased. Wishing you lots of scrappy happiness!!! :)
