Hi Everyone -- Sherri Caramico here again - and I am HAPPY to be back to Scrappytown and Bloggerville, after being away for what seems like FOREVER!!

Hubby and I spent our 30th Wedding Anniversary on an AWESOME "RE-HONEYMOON" Trip, and arrived home less than 24 hours before Hurricane Sandy hit New Jersey.  We spent the next week literally IN THE DARK and on gas lines -but we consider ourselves one of the lucky ones, and have learned to appreciate what we have and what we take for granted. So many others have lost everything, or had terrible damage to their homes.  We are thankful that all we were was inconvenienced, and are blessed to be able to say so.

Now that I'm back, I want to share the info for my next class at

Hi Everyone - I wanted to introduce you to a series of classes that I have been, and will be teaching at Scrap-a-Doodle Doo!

They are titled "How'd She "DOO" That?" They are technique based classes, in which students create a 1 page layout using fun products and new methods. Complete directions and photos are provided, so that you can re-create and use these techniques again and again in your future layouts and projects.

The 2nd Class in the series is titled:
"Lot's O' Layers Class"
I taught this class at Scrap-a-Doodle Doo on April 12th, and it was so much fun, and well received,
that will be teaching it again this Saturday, April 21st
at Scrap-a-Doodle Doo's Luau Themed Weekend Crop!

Here is a full photo of the Layout ~

I used papers from the "WILD" BoBunny ZOOLOGY Collection -
(1) 12x12 BoBunny ZOOLOGY,
(1) 12x12 BoBunny ZOO DOT,
(1) 12x12 BoBunny Zoology WORD,
Can you believe there were only 3 pieces of paper
used to make all these layers?!

The ZOO DOT "frame" was made with a Water Distressing Technique, as well as the center photo frame (orange with small dots) which is the back of the Zoology paper.

I thought the lovely tiger and beautiful green leaves from the ZOOLOGY page needed to be brightened up a little bit - so we tapped the Ranger Distress Stains out on a splat mat, or non-porous surface to create a little puddle that we could dip a paint brush in - and painted the Tiger with Spiced Marmalade, and the leaves with Peeled Paint. After it dried, the Tiger was highlighted with Ranger Distress Markers -using Black Soot, and Picket Fence, then we used Royal Coat Dimensional Magic to make his eyes and nose come to life.

Look how much it just makes all that lovely detail "POP!"

The 2 feathers / or leaves were lots of fun to make too - they were made with the reverse side of the ZOO DOT paper.  They were then accented with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Indian Summer and Sea Kelp.

All of these products can be purchased either at the
Store ( 37 C Swan Street, Ramsey, NJ) or On-Line at

Watch for my next class coming in May - it is titled:
"How'd She "DOO" That?" "SSDL"
which stands for
Same Stuff, Different Layout! - We will start out with all of the SAME materials from this layout - and I will show you how to TRANSFORM them into a totally DIFFERENT look!  This is going to be so much FUN!!
Sneak Peek and Date/Time Details coming soon!

((HUGS)) ~ Sherri

Hi Doodle Doer's!

Sherri Caramico here - I am one of the Design Team Members and Educators at my FAVORITE Local Scrapbook Store (LSS) Scrap-a-Doodle Doo in Ramsey, NJ.

Thanks for stopping by! Please FOLLOW this blog and feel free to share/recommend it to your Scrappy Friends - as THE DOO TEAM has great plans to share lots of FUN ideas and techniques with you in the future!

For my first post - I'd LOVE to share a FUN project with you.

I taught this "Lots 'O Layers" Class at Scrap-a-Doodle Doo's CANDYLAND Weekend Crop event, on January 27, 28 & 29.  This event was well attended by 90+ Scrappy Croppers, and all of them had (as always)  a FABULOUS TIME!

The class sold out with 12 Lovely and Talented Ladies attending! They were all so pleased with their finished layout, and I am happy they enjoyed the class, and learning a new technique!

Since not everyone got into the class - I will be teaching a similar one at the store in the very near future! Watch this Blog and Scrap-a-Doodle Doo's Facebook Page for a Date and Time!

Until then - I'll share the photos of the layout that we created at the Candyland Weekend.

I used a piece of "YAM" Bazzill cardstock for the base - I really love how it picked up and made the light orange color in the frame stand out.

The other papers are from the beautiful Webster's Pages Lady's and Gent's line - "Groomed Traveler" and "Pretty Up" I just LOVE the Blue and Green combo in these papers!

The blue frame originally had an outside measurement of 12"x12" but just look at what a little water, and folding ( or smushing) can do!  It transforms it into a smaller frame that allows the beautiful green paper to edge the layout so nicely!

The green "frame" in the center was made by using a bone folder, a pencil and water to curl the edges. This is a fun way to add dimension to your layouts and make your photos POP!
(hmmm.... I think that would be a good idea for a future Tutorial ~ don't you?!)

The edges of everything, including the folds and creases were "distressed" with RANGER Distress Stain in what must be one of my favorite colors "PEELED PAINT" as I realize that I have 3 bottles of this color in my stash!! LOL!!
Here is a close up of some of the detail.

The plain paper Prima Flower was "inked" with Ranger Distress Stain in Shabby Shutters.

In this close up, you can see the dimension you can achieve with this water distressing technique.  I hope this inspired you to get out your Mini Mister, spray some paper with water and smush away!

I'd love to have you join me in my upcoming class for a hands on lesson in Water Distressing! Again, watch this blog and Scrap-a-Doodle Doo's facebook page for more details!

Thanks for stopping by!
Please feel free to leave a comment or ask a question, if you have any, about this technique - I'd be happy to reply!
